1. Purpose
This Notice explains how Hostyt handles data belonging to customers and customer end users in the context of hosting, VPS, email, domain, DNS, and support services.
2. Customer as controller
For data stored by customers in websites, databases, mailboxes, files, applications, and servers, the customer normally decides the purposes and means of processing. In that case, the customer is the controller and Hostyt acts as processor under the Data Processing Addendum.
3. Provider as controller
We act as controller for account administration, billing, fraud prevention, abuse handling, security, legal compliance, domain registrant processing, service improvement, and communications with customers.
4. Operational access
Support or operations staff may access limited customer data when needed to troubleshoot, secure, migrate, back up, restore, investigate abuse, comply with law, or perform customer-requested actions.
5. Customer duties
- Publish your own privacy notice where required.
- Collect personal data lawfully and fairly.
- Secure your applications and credentials.
- Use encryption, access controls, and retention rules appropriate to your data.
- Do not store prohibited or unlawfully obtained personal data.
6. End-user requests
End users of a customer website should contact the relevant website owner first. We may direct end-user requests to the customer unless law requires us to act directly.
Updates
We may update this document from time to time. The version published on host.yt is the current version. If a change materially affects active paid services, we may notify affected customers by email, account notice, ticket, or another reasonable channel.
